Poll finds voter support for changing how boundaries are rewritten

By nearly a 2-to-1 margin, voters are in favor of creating a commission that would rewrite district boundaries in Utah every decade. But some are skeptical that the initiative would truly take politics out of redistricting.

Q: Do you support or oppose a proposed ballot initiative that would create an independent redistricting committee to recommend new political boundaries that the state Legislature then would vote up or down?

Source: Dan Jones & Associates talked to 605 registered voters from Oct. 10-13. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.98 percentage points.
