After three decades of marriage to Martin MacNeill, with whom she had eight children, Michele MacNeill undergoes an upper, middle and lower facelift performed by Layton plastic surgeon, Scott Thompson. Thompson testified at a preliminary hearing that Martin MacNeill requested, that in addition to the normal regimen of prescription drugs, his wife also be given a prescription of the painkiller Percocet, and Valium, for anxiety.
"In this case, because of the fact that Martin was a physician, I was more willing to give more extra medications that I normally would have," Thompson testified last year at a preliminary hearing. |

Somers finds her mother unresponsive in the morning, according to preliminary hearing testimony. Somers testified that her mother was very sedated, and she could not wake her up. When she asked her father why her mother wouldn't wake up, he admitted that he may have overmedicated her.
Somers said that when her mother woke up later that evening, she was fearful.
"She said, 'Alexis, I don't know why, but your dad kept giving me pills, giving me medication,'" Somers testified. "'I started to throw up and he kept giving me pills, saying take this, take this.'" |

Daughter Ada MacNeill, then 6, discovers Michele MacNeill in a bathtub, her eyes open and not moving, wearing a track suit, according to preliminary hearing testimony. Martin MacNeill told his daughter to go to the neighbors to get help, while he called 911.
But in a recording of the 911 call, Martin MacNeill's words are nearly inaudible as he screamed at the dispatcher for help. He gave an incorrect address and hung up on the dispatcher twice. Prosecutors believe Martin MacNeill lied to the dispatcher about performing resuscitation, and lied to police about events surrounding his wife's death in an effort to hinder, delay or prevent any investigation. |

The MacNeill's older daughter, Rachel MacNeill, meets Gypsy Willis, her father's alleged mistress, for the first time, according to preliminary hearing testimony. Rachel MacNeill testified that she had gone to the American Fork LDS temple with her father to pray about hiring a nanny, when a woman interrupted them, and introduced herself as "Jillian." Willis testified at the preliminary hearing that the meeting was a ruse to meet the MacNeill children without the pretext of being Martin MacNeill's mistress. |
