Emerald Pools Trail -- Zion National Park
Nancy Elder takes a moment to reflect about her son Tyler in the spot where he fell over over a cliff and died nearly three years ago at the middle terrace of the Emerald Pools ia popular short hike at Zion National Park. The edge of the cliff isn't deceiving. . It is rounded off and full of running water and algae making the gentle slope slippery and extremely dangerous. Since Tyler's death the Park Service has installed better warning signs and a chain fence.
