Since 2013, the proportion of female interns in the Utah Legislature has increased by 10 percentage points. Morgan Lyon Cotti, associate director of the Hinckley Institute, oversees and trains most of the interns across the state, and speculated the increased number of female interns may be part of a larger swell of women's involvement in politics over recent years.
