Demong made history at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics by becoming the first American to win gold in Nordic combined, and he stands a fair chance of winning another in his fifth Olympics. Though he has not reached the World Cup podium this season, he remains one of the top athletes in the world, and has not only Olympic gold but every color of medal from the world championships to prove it. Bryan Fletcher
A forerunner at the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, the Colorado native beat leukemia as a child as remains an activist in the fight against cancer from his training base in Park City. He hasn't medaled in the World Cup this year, but he is the highest ranked American in the overall standings at 11th. He's also a crucial member of the relay team that earned bronze at last year's world championships, and older brother to teammate Taylor Fletcher. Website

Taylor Fletcher
The younger brother of teammate Bryan Fletcher, he's a star-in-the-making, especially given his strength in the cross-country portion of his sport. The Colorado native based in Park City made his first World Cup podium last season, and was an integral part of the relay team that earned bronze at last year's world championships.
